Obituary of Jean Wight

 

Norma Jean Wight 

Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Four Counties Health Services, on Saturday, November 9, 2019, Jean Wight (née Humphrey) passed away at the age of 90. Predeceased by her husband Harris “Ben” Wight (1993). Loving mother of David Wight (Luanne) of St. Thomas. Cherished grandmother of Vicky (Bill), Greg (Lisa), Lindsay (Dave) and Michael (Ariana). Proud great-grandmother of Finn, Dax, Kira and Grace. Jean is survived by her sister, Sharon (late Wes) Maynard of London. Predeceased by her brother, Gordon (late Leona) Also predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law; Jack (Gloria) Wight and Mary (George) Taylor. Jean was born on July 25, 1929 to Henry Humphrey and Norma (née Harris). Jean was a proud resident of Rodney for almost her entire life, having lived in West Lorne during the last two years. In earlier years, Jean was a proud employee of Fairles’ for forty-eight years. Jean held membership in the Rodney Horticultural Society and was a lifelong member of Calvary United Church. Jean always enjoyed cheering on her favourite baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays. Relatives and friends will be received at Denning’s of Rodney, 212 Furnival Road, Rodney (519-785-0810) on Tuesday, November 12th from 5-8 p.m. where the Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 11 a.m. (visitation from 10-11 a.m.) Interment in Rodney Cemetery.
