Obituary of William David Hind

Bill Hind 1935-2020 Peacefully passed on May 21st with support of loving family. Loving father of Billy, Jamey, Matt (Linda) and Jeremy. Pre-deceased by Mother Viola Hind (Myers) and Father William Hind, brother Herman Hind and nephew Stephen Hind. Survived by sister Carol Cornwall (Hind) as well as many nieces and nephews and grand children; Sandra, Ryan and Raylee. He was born in Grande Point, and raised in Crinan just outside of West Lorne. He was the first born son of Viola and William Hind and eldest brother of Herman and Carol. Bill was a son, father, grandfather, uncle and a good friend. He was a very special man, known for his kindness, dedication to his family and his hard work ethic. Bill began working the land with his dad at a young age and soon became a master of machines and clearing land. He could run and fix any machine. Bill saw the land in a way only the gifted can, and could see the way things worked and flowed. There wasn’t much land near home that he hadn’t worked on. The bushes he cleared for farmers fields, the roads and trails he built, even the Newbury hospital where he passed is built on ground he levelled off. Always wanting to learn, he studied everything from trees, animals, guns, chainsaws, heavy equipment, automobiles and much more. He was loved more than he’ll ever know by not only his 4 boys Billy, Jamey Matt and Jeremy, but by all his nieces and nephews, cousins, grand children, his sister Carol and the countless friends that he had throughout his life. He was proud of his family, proud of their accomplishments as we were proud of his. He was and always will be the rock the boys can anchor to. He will be sincerely missed and eternally loved by all of us. In keeping with Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private gravesite service will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Denning's of West Lorne. (519) 785-0810. If desired, memorial contributions to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
