Randal Joseph William Kuranyi passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer in his 62nd year.

Randy is survived by his wife of 38 years Diane, daughters Crystal and Kate, and grandson Jaxon (Speedy). Predeceased by his father Joe Kuranyi and father-in-law Robert McNeil, Randy is survived by his mother Erna Kuranyi and sisters Linda (John), Nancy (Wayne), Esther (Steve), Elaine (Bob), Sharron (Jim) and several nieces and nephews.  Also survived by mother in-law Jeannine, sisters-in-law Deb (Joan), Marilyn (Ed), Donna (Jack) and brother-in-law John (Anne).

Randy was born in St. Thomas to Joe and Erna Kuranyi on Aug 1st, 1960. He lived his entire life in the Rodney area as a proud farmer and entrepreneur.  A graduate of Fanshawe College, Randy had a reputation county wide for the ability to fix anything. Affectionately known as “MacGyver”, he could always be found in his shop fixing any number of things for any number of people.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Care Partners and the West Elgin Pharmacy for care that went above and beyond.  Special thanks to cherished family and friends for their support, visits, gifts of food and flowers, and the assistance provided with the many things “MacGyver” and his family needed to have done. These acts served as a comfort to Randy and our family and will never be forgotten.

Memorial donations may be made to the Bobier Villa Recreation Department (for Resident entertainment), 1 Bobier Ln, Dutton, ON N0L 1J0 or the West Elgin Daffodil Society would be appreciated as your expression of sympathy.

An informal Celebration of Life will be held on July 31, 2022 from 1-3pm at 23625 Pioneer Line, Rodney, Ontario.  A short service will start at 1:30 with a light lunch to follow.  This is a backyard celebration so bring your lawn chairs.
