At Four Counties Health Services, Newbury, on Monday, January 30, 2017, Bertha Jean Martin (née Campbell) of Newbury and formerly of Rodney, passed away at the age of 88. Beloved wife and best friend of the late John William Martin (2000). Loving mother of Patricia McLeod and her husband Ronald of Pike Bay and Buckhorn, and Karen Martin of Ottawa. Cherished grandmother of Sarah McLeod Kramer (Rene), James McLeod (Meaghan), Nicholas Jonathon McLeod and Elizabeth McLeod (Mark), Amaya Martin-Cannon and Kira Martin-Cannon (Duncan). Cherished great-grandmother of Colin, Anna, Braden, Belle, Margaret, Logan, and Keaton. Survived by nieces, Anne Campbell and Jeannette Willer (Giles) and nephews Don Campbell and Marvin Giles and special cousin Frances Waite (Campbell). Lovingly remembered by her great nephews. Predeceased by parents, Dugald and Jessie (Kay) Campbell, a very special mentor Harriet J. Campbell, and her brother, Reverend Dr. D. Glenn Campbell and his wife Marion Campbell (Paterson). Bertha was a long time member of St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Rodney. Relatives and friends will be received at DENNING’S OF RODNEY, 212 Furnival Road, Rodney (519-785-0810), on Friday, February 3rd from 7-9 p.m. where the Funeral Service will commence at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Visitation will precede the Service for one hour. Interment in Rodney Cemetery.
