Obituary of Donald "Don" Broom

On Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the Bobier Villa, Dutton, Donald Broom, formerly of Rodney, passed away at the age of 85. Beloved husband for 62 years to Dorothy Broom (née Tinney). Loving father of James Russell Broom (Erna), Linda Van Dyk (Roger) and Grace Blanchard (Mike). Cherished grandfather of Robert Broom, Jennifer Van Dyk, Jeremy Van Dyk (Erin Lundy), Katherine Philmore, Bryan Blanchard (Jenn), Bradley Blanchard (Taylor) and Brandee Blanchard. Great-grandfather of Blain and Madeline Van Dyk and Charlotte and Christina Blanchard. Survived by his sister Alice Manning (late Arthur) of Highgate, sister-in-law Mable Cudmore and brother-in-law John Tinney (Maryann). Predeceased by his parents Clarence and Gladys (née Vince), his sister Olive Anstice (late Charlie) and brother-in-law Ross Tinney. Relatives and friends will be received at DENNING’S OF RODNEY, 212 Furnival Road, Rodney (519-785-0810) on Monday, April 17 from 7-9 p.m. where the Funeral Service will commence on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 2 p.m. Interment in Mayhew-Mt.
