Obituary of David Pearce

Peacefully, at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, David Leslie Pearce, of West Lorne, passed away at the age of 93.  Beloved husband of Marigold (née Hannaford) for 68 years.  Loving father of Leslie Pearce (Rosa) of Coppell, Texas, Bronwen Jorel of Powell River, British Columbia, Laurie Pearce (Kirk McMahon) of Toronto, Siobhan McRae (William) of Cambridge and Richard Pearce (Edwina D’Cruz Pearce) of Slave Lake, Alberta.  Cherished grandfather of Pearce and Devon McMahon, Matthew Pearce and Jeffrey McRae.  David owned and operated Pearce’s Garage in West Lorne, proudly providing repair services to vehicles of all types for more than 30 years.  Throughout his life, he was a dedicated member of the West Lorne Town Council, West Lorne Public Utilities Commission and West Elgin Dramatics Society. He served as District Deputy Grand Master of McColl Masonic Lodge No. 386 A.F. and A.M., where he was a member for 60 years, and was an elder of the West Lorne Presbyterian Church and, more recently, Argyle Presbyterian Church, Crinan.

Friends and community members will be received at DENNING’S OF WEST LORNE, 202 Main Street, West Lorne (519-785-0810) on Saturday, January 13, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at 2 p.m.  Memorial donations to a local, national or international charity of your choice are welcome.
