Obituary of Carlos Meneses Junior Oliveira

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son & cherished brother Carlos Meneses Oliveira, who left us too soon on February 8th, 2024 at the age of 33.

Carlos, or “Junior” as he was fondly called by friends and family, was born on December 28th, 1990, grew up in West Lorne, Ontario, and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic High School.

Carlos was a friend to everyone he met.

Carlos was a person who took pride in his work. He was a dedicated employee of Brose Canada for over 10 years before they announced their recent move. He has spent the past year happily working for TLC Landscaping in London, Ontario where he enjoyed the physical nature of the work, loved proving himself and learning to operate new equipment and especially loved working outdoors. He was known for his positive attitude and for always lending a helping hand. In his free time, he enjoyed listening to music, playing his guitar, fishing, and biking.

Junior always made time for his family and friends. He was a loving & caring son, brother and uncle who put great value in family. He had a great sense of humour and always knew how to put a smile on everyone’s face.

Carlos Jr. is survived by his parents, Carlos & Ilda Oliveira, his siblings Marisa & Russell Brokenshire, Elsa & Ryan Peacock, Claudia & Brad McCready, Ana & Jeff Ripley, Carla & Jon Fleming and his nieces & nephews Claire & Taylor; Addison & Blake; Michael, Meghan & Ethan; Tristan & Aiden and Rose & Francis. He will be deeply missed by his numerous Tias, Tios and cousins.

The family would like to thank Dr. Laporte and everyone on the St Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Mental Health Unit; Tracy, Holly and Martha of CMHA; and everyone at Bluewater Health and Ryan’s House for supporting Junior in his greatest times of need.

A Public Celebration of Life will be held at the Dunwich United Church, 274 Currie Road, Dutton, Ontario N0L 1J0 on Sunday February 18th, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm with words of remembrance to be spoken at 3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made “In Memory of Carlos Oliveira Jr.” to:

St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital - In-Patient Mental Health Care

Bluewater Health Foundation - Ryan’s House - Mental Health & Addictions

CMHA Thames Valley Addiction & Mental Health Services - London Branch
